Having been acquired by Marlowe plc in March 2021, we have joined forces with Ellis Whittam, Law At Work and other leading businesses to create a powerhouse of workforce and workplace support services.

While our name has changed, the bespoke HR support we provide to organisations in the voluntary and community sector will continue. Our values remain core: delighting clients as a trusted partner and skilled sector specialists; developing strong partnerships, enabling us to really understand and resolve client needs; and working as a team to deliver success. This is HRSP and this is WorkNest – it’s in our DNA.

The HRSP story

Maria and Jerry founded the HR Services Partnership (HRSP) in January 2003, from their spare room, sharing one PC and their newborn son.

Maria’s experience of working in the third sector identified the need for smaller charities to access quality, bespoke and affordable advice – a strong ethos that guides the company’s direction to this day.

From an initial two clients, word spread amongst the network of charity CEOs and Trustees, resulting in the first consultant being recruited in 2004. HRSP’s reputation for quality and affordability combined with what was then a unique ‘no-tie-in’ contract landed well in the sector.

In 2006, the business moved from its home base into its first office and gained IIP status as more staff joined. Sector recognition by the National Council of Voluntary Organisation came in 2008 when HRSP became the first HR consultancy trusted supplier.

Expansion within the charity sector was followed by expansion within local councils, as HRSP became the recommended supplier for HR support to local councils across England, through the local council’s County Associations.

Behind a strong referral network of clients sat an amazing team whose values and ethos reinforced the company’s reputation for solving whatever problem clients presented.  

Some 18 years later, the newborn is off to University and it’s also time for HRSP to fly the nest. HRSP has now joined forces with Law At Work, Ellis Whittam and other leading businesses who share the same values and vision and is excited to offer clients a wider range of services as WorkNest.

2003

HRSP is founded by Maria Aguilar and Jerry Taylor. A year later, it appoints its first HR Consultant.

2006

HRSP achieves Investors in People and moves into its first physical office.

2008

HRSP is awarded Trusted Supplier status by the National Council of Voluntary Organisations.

2014

The first County Association of Local Councils appoints HRSP as a recommended supplier of HR support for local councils.

2015

HRSP’s HR Consultants become qualified Insights Discovery Practitioners, enabling them to offer clients access to this valuable psychometric tool to enhance team development.

2017

HRSP provides its first completely outsourced HR service to two clients.

2018

Royal Voluntary Service appoints HRSP to transform the provision of HR support to its 1,200 staff throughout the UK.

2019

HRSP is able to offer small employers a complete ‘in-house’ recruitment solution using an applicant tracking system. In the same year, it becomes the National Association of Local Council’s HR Partner, providing services to member councils across the UK.

2020

With 300+ clients, 22 staff and a £1M+ turnover, HRSP is acquired by Marlowe plc, joining Ellis Whittam, Law At Work and other leading businesses to strengthen the group’s employment law and HR arm.

Today

HRSP is proud to be part of WorkNest, giving clients access to a wealth of combined experience, an enhanced range of complementary services and unrivalled expertise in the third sector.
